Hero of the Week # 4

Simply put, one of the most badass superheroes to ever exist. This hero needs no introduction. A billionaire entrepreneur by day  and caped crusader by night. Bruce Wayne depicts the embodiment of a hero that uses the same fear his enemies use to strike fear back at them. As a young boy he witnesses the murder of his parents, from that point on he swore revenge on crime, an oath tempered with a great deal of justice. Without any actual powers, Batman relies on physical prowess and intellect, his detective skills, science and technology, wealth, martial arts skills, an indomitable will, fear, and intimidation in his continuous war on crime. The Dark Knight has always been a fan favorite and become Continue reading

Hero of the Week # 3

Probably one of the most iconic superheroes of all time, our Hero tribute of the week goes to the one and only, Superman.

The last son of Krypton, Kal-El was rocketed to Earth as an infant by his scientist father Jor-El, moments before Krypton’s destruction. Discovered and adopted by a Kansas farmer and his wife, the child is raised as Clark Kent and imbued with a strong moral compass. Very early he started to display superhuman abilities, which upon reaching maturity he resolved to use for the benefit of humanity and well Continue reading

Smallville, a decade later.

After a 10 year run, Smallville finally comes to an end. The show has gone a long way since its start and definitely has had its ups and downs. But no matter where the show decided to go, the dire hard fans followed closely, supporting it every step of the way, at least enough to keep the show running a decade long. Smallville was a show based loosely off of Clark Kent’s life before he dawned the famous red cape and becomes the world most recognized hero, Superman. The series follows Clark through his high school days at Smallville High to his early years at the Daily Planet in Metropolis. Personally the show has always been one of my favorites, I mean I’ve been watching it since I was 12, I’m 22 now. Not only did we watch a young Clark Kent grow up, but many of us grew up with him. Tom Welling has done an amazing job of portraying a young Superman and the rest of the cast have always played their part. Through out the years we have seen a lot of the characters change as well as cast members leaving and new ones joining the set. It has been one long road for Superman. The ending was bittersweet, but overall a good end to the series. I know fans have been waiting since the beginning to see Clark put on the iconic suit and we finally get it. Thank you Smallville for everything.

Thor Review

Alright guys, the first superhero movie to hit the big screen this summer definitely set it off right. Even with the release of Fast Five a week before Thor still managed to topple the box office grossing $89.2 million in its first weekend and bumping the fast and furious film to second place. I got a chance to see the film over the weekend and I must say Marvel Studios did a good job depicting the Asgardian Thunder God.Chris Hemingsworth put on an impressive show as Thor himself and he sure looked the part. Nathalee Portman played Continue reading

My personal take

While I was doing my video project I realized something, not everyone is super hero illiterate. It actually brings a smile to my face to know that the love of comic book characters hasn’t completely died off yet. We grew up watching these characters, they were always a part of us, something to look up to. At least for me I believed in Superheroes more than anything as a kid and hope that continues on to the next generations.

I owe a lot of thanks to this man right here.
